On the waterline it defines without looking harsh, smudged out it looks smoky, carefree and again a lot more flattering than black or grey and as mentioned it can be applied all over the lid for a soft, bronze cream eyeshadow effect. Bobbi Brown Surf and Sand Long Wear Eye Pencil in Bronze is not your typical bronze rather it is slightly ruddy yet rich brown that glimmer bronze in certain lights. This pencil does just that but is a great universal eyeliner and eyeshadow (more on that in a minute) for all especially in the summer months. Having blue eyes means I do tend to purchase a lot of warm golden bronze shades as they give the illusion of bluer eyes. In terms of wear I applied this yesterday and was able to achieve close to 8 hours of wear before it began to fade and that is on my currently oily skin. Rather it gives a lit form within glow and means you can skip highlighter should you wish. Despite being a radiance educing blush with tiny flecks of glitter this is one of the few glitter products that doesn't sit in my enlarged pores. I love a good multi-purpose product don't you? Unlike the above eyeshadow palette this has a soft, smooth texture that supplies good colour pay off and isn't at all chalky. Oh but the multi-functionality of this blush doesn't stop there you can use a small brush to brush on the highlight segment (white) anywhere you desire or even use the smaller stripes as eyeshadow. Due to the layout you can easily slip the two lighter shades of the blush and use the large medium pink section or of course swirl all three shades together to form a light, illuminating pink flush of colour. Now this is a clever idea and I'm guessing the layout of the Bobbi Brown blushes borrow some inspiration from the cult Bobbi Brown Shimmer Bricks? A trio of shades: two pinks and a white segment which has been added to brighten and lighten the shade. If I am entirely honest no I don't think this is worth the £48 price tag. If you like the idea of wearing a gentle wash of colour on your eyelids then this is a palette you will enjoy, if you like your eyeshadow to be extremely bright and offer exceptional pigment levels then this will be a skip for you. Although the shades are not the most pigmented in the world I do rather like the sorbet shade assortment mixed with a few golden, neutral hues - variety is the spice of life. If you want a more intense finish I recommend applying the shadows wet a.k.a foiling which you can do either with a mixing medium or good old water. Without a primer I found the glitter fall out was a little overwhelming and messy for my liking. The shades are fairly firm and dry in texture and honestly work best with a primer, the majority are glitter or shimmer based with only one matte shade to choose from. The Bobbi Brown Surf Palette is the bright come pastel eyeshadow palette that might not be as pigmented as I initially had hoped but if you like gentle washes of colour then I would imagine this will be right up your alley.
